Customer Service Agent (French-speaking)

We’re a UK-based online travel agent specialising in camping and caravanning, and we have an immediate vacancy for an exceptional French-speaking customer service agent to join our friendly team.

Main duties will include:

  • Giving our (mostly UK-based) customers excellent service via email, phone and online chat before and after they make their bookings. This could range from helping someone find the perfect family-friendly site in Spain, to answering questions on bookings and sorting out any problems
  • Talking to managers of campsites in 47 countries, helping them with customer queries and being the first point of call if they need help
  • Assist account managers and sales teams
  • Help with other administrative tasks within the team

You’ll be working closely with our account management team, and be on the lookout for improvements to make our processes slicker and our customers happier. We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of a forward-thinking company and who wants to take a big part in helping us continue to establish Pitchup.com as a modern, creative brand.

Given the booking patterns of our customers, the role will require a minimum 35 hours a week 2pm to 10pm (UK time) and some weekends.

The post is for immediate start and is primarily based at our office in Chiswick (nearest transport: Gunnersbury, Kew Bridge). You'll be able to work from home outside office hours.

We expect the role to last until the season ends in September. However, there will be opportunities in similar roles (employed and contract) for the right candidate during the autumn/winter.

The candidate

We're looking for a meticulous, flexible individual, able to prioritise based on company needs while meeting tight deadlines. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Fluent in French (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and phone manner
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and use of online customer service tools, including responses via social media
  • Meticulous, organised and methodical
  • Confidence in taking ownership of our customers' enquiries
  • Able to work on a flexible work schedule including some weekends
  • ​A desire to take a big part in the establishment of Pitchup.com as a modern, creative brand
  • Own computer
  • Internet savvy
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently
  • General administrative skills, as well as experience within a customer-facing sector
  • Switched on

Package: hourly rate of £12-14 per hour

Hours: minimum 35 hours per week 2pm to 10pm (UK time) and some weekends
